Chad is a large landlocked country in north-central Africa characterized by desert landscapes in the Sahara, arid plains in the Sahel, and savannas in the south, along with Lake Chad in its western region.
๐ Chad is a landlocked country located in north-central Africa, positioned at the crossroads of North and Sub-Saharan Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, Central African Republic to the south, and Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger to the west.
Chadโs landscape varies significantly from north to south, with the Sahara Desert dominating the northern region, transitioning into the semi-arid Sahel zone in the center, and more fertile savanna in the south. One of its most important geographic features is Lake Chad in the west, a shrinking but historically significant water source for the region. Chadโs position across multiple climate zones has influenced its ecosystems, cultures, and trade routes throughout history.
