Republic of Indonesia
Indonesia
Also known as: Republic of Indonesia, Republik Indonesia (Indonesian)
Indonesia is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia consisting of thousands of islands, characterized by tropical rainforests, volcanic mountains, and coastlines along the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
๐ Indonesia is a vast island country located in Southeast Asia and Oceania, stretching across the equator between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is the worldโs largest archipelago, consisting of thousands of islands. Indonesia shares land borders with Malaysia on the island of Borneo, Papua New Guinea on the island of New Guinea, and Timor-Leste on the island of Timor. It lies near Singapore to the northwest and Australia to the south.
As an archipelago, Indonesia has no continuous landmass and is surrounded by the Indian Ocean to the southwest and the Pacific Ocean to the northeast, along with numerous seas such as the Java Sea and Banda Sea. Its terrain is highly varied, featuring volcanic mountains, dense tropical rainforests, and coastal plains. Indonesia lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it prone to earthquakes and volcanic activity.
Its location between two oceans and continents has historically made it a major hub for trade, migration, and cultural exchange across Asia and Oceania.
What is an ISO Country Code?
ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used globally in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.
Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country's ISO two-letter code.
ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
Indonesia (ISO 3166-1) Official Motto:
"Bhinneka Tunggal Ika"
(Translated from Indonesian: "Unity in Diversity")
National Ideology:
"Pancasila"
(Translated from Indonesian: "Politics")
