Colombia is a country in northwestern South America characterized by the Andes Mountains, tropical rainforests of the Amazon Basin, vast plains known as the Llanos, and coastlines along the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

๐Ÿ“ Colombia is a country located in northwestern South America, uniquely positioned as a gateway between Central and South America. It is bordered by Panama to the northwest, Venezuela to the east, Brazil to the southeast, Peru to the south, and Ecuador to the southwest, with coastlines along both the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
Colombiaโ€™s geography is highly diverse, featuring the northern Andes Mountains, which split into three distinct ranges, as well as tropical rainforests in the Amazon Basin, vast plains known as the Llanos in the east, and coastal lowlands along both seas. The countryโ€™s varied terrain supports rich biodiversity and a wide range of climates. Colombiaโ€™s strategic location has historically made it a key link between continents, cultures, and trade routes across the Americas.

What is an ISO Country Code?

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used globally in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country's ISO two-letter code.

ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
